At the Experimental Center for Prosthetics and Personnel Training (established at RSC Energia in 1990), testers, who are specially selected from among disabled persons, are fitted with newly developed and bench-tested prosthetic designs before the final decision is made to start mass production of these modules.

It is also here that prosthetics specialists from various regions of the country are being trained in advanced technologies and fabrication of prostheses from new structural elements. Students of the Kaliningrad Space Engineering and Technology College, where a division for orthopedic and rehabilitation technology was opened in 1992, also get their hands-on training here.
