ROSCOSMOS declares open enrolment for the cosmonaut corpsMarch 14, 2017
Cosmonauts’ enrolment campaign begins on March 14, 2017: the Interdepartmental commission made a decision to conduct a contest of FGBU Research Institute Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (CTC) on candidates’ enrolment for ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut corps in 2017.
The objective is to select the best specialists, possessing skills of working with space and/or aviation technique, which will become the first pilots of the new Russian spaceship Federatsiya, and will work on the program of the International Space Station (ISS), and also will become the first Russians to fly to the Moon.
According to the contest conditions it is supposed to choose six-eight people, which will complement ROSCOSMOS cosmonaut corps.
The contestants have to go through several stages. The enrolment for the compliance with the educational and professional aptitude’s requirements stipulate that applicants for cosmonaut candidates have the body of knowledge, necessary for successful passing through the cosmonauts’ professional training programs. The complex of health surveys will allow carrying out next stage of applicants' enrolment. The successful passing through the set of actions allowing estimating psychological qualities of the applicants is a necessary condition for contest winning. Also the candidates will be obliged to pass through the testing for the compliance with physical readiness requirements.

The principal stages of ROSCOSMOS cosmonauts candidates’ enrolment will take place at the base of Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
Documents are sent by post at notice or are delivered personally by the applicant at address: 141160, the Moscow Region, Star City, to the chief of FGBU Research Institute Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center with the mark “to the committee for selecting cosmonauts candidates”.
