On the New Year's eve, RSC Energia team can say with confidence that they have met the tight scgedule for 2011 in their core business. Under the international Space Station (ISS) Program, launches of four manned space vehicles "Soyuz TMA" were performed, including two new series space vehicles; safe launches of five cargo vehicles Progress M-M were provided. Also the second European cargo vehicle flight and integration into the ISS Russian Segment (RS) were performed. After a two-year break due to Sea Launch Company restructuring, the first launch of spacecraft (SC) from sea-based cosmodrome was conducted. In addition, under the Land Launch Program, SC orbital insertion using Upper Stage (US) DM-SLB was conducted. In so doing, organization-technical efforts were undertaken with the aim to recommence US DM-03 launches. As far as unmanned spacecraft and systems are concerned, change-over to implementation of some contracts for developing dedicated articles is planned.

Merry housewarming parties!
S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia continues to address the important social task of providing modern comfortable housing to the company employees.
In the first-stage development residential community, a multi-storey apartment house No.1 has been put into service, containing the total number of 548 apartments, including 178 one-room apartments, 192 two-room apartments, 178 three-room apartments. The total floor spaces of the apartments (taking into account balconies) is 32 388.5 m2. The first lucky new tenants - employees and veterans of the company - are going to see the New Year in having already moved in their modern comfortable apartments.

Soyuz TMA-03M spacecraft has docked with ISS
Russian manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-03M has docked with the International Space Station after two days of free flight in low Earth orbit.
Rendezvous with the space station, its fly-around, stationkeeping and docking were performed in automatic mode.
The initial contact with the docking port on the research module Rassvet of the Russian segment of the space station occurred at 07:19 PM Moscow Time.

Two more RSC Energia employees are now members of the Russian Academy of Sciences!
On December 21-22, 2011, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) held a regular general meeting, which included, as one of the items on its agenda, the election of new members to the Academy.
Elected to the RAS Section for Power, Engineering, Mechanics and Control Processes were:
to the full membership of the Academy — Mikrin, Yevgeni Anatolievich, First Deputy General Designer of RSC Energia for onboard and ground control systems;
to the corresponding membership of the Academy — Soloviev, Vladimir Alexeevich, First Deputy General Designer of RSC Energia for flight operation and testing of rocket and space systems.

Soyuz TMA-03M manned transportation spacecraft launched towards ISS
In accordance with the mission plan of the International Space Station (ISS) and Russian commitments under this international project, a manned transportation spacecraft Soyuz TMA-03M was launched from Baikonur launch site at 05:16:15 PM Moscow Time.
The objective of the launch is to deliver to ISS a crew of three in order bring the crew of Expedition Thirty (ISS-30) up to six.

The State Commission meeting
The State Commission held its meeting at Baikonur launch site where the primary and backup crews for Soyuz TMA-03M were approved and the readiness of the space launcher system was confirmed.
The State Commission approved the proposed composition of the primary and backup crews.

LV Soyuz rollout to the launch pad
At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Soyuz TMA-03M transport manned vehicle under the International Space Station program.
Soyuz-FG launch vehicle was rolled out from the integration building to the launch pad. Soyuz-FG launch vehicle with Soyuz TMA-03M transport vehicle is installed on the launch pad. L-2 days activities have been started.

A meeting of the Technical management and State commission were held

A meeting of the Technical management under the chairmanship of S.P. Korolev RSC Energia President and General Designer V.A. Lopota and State commission was held. A decision on rollout of the launch vehicle with the Soyuz TMA-03M transport manned spacecraft to the launch facility and its preparation for launch planned for December 21, 2011 was adopted.

LV Soyuz general integration is completed
At Baikonur launch site the preparations continue for the launch of Soyuz TMA-03M transport manned vehicle under the International Space Station program.
In the LV Integration and Checkout Facility, the basic integration of the Soyuz-FG launch vehicle with the upper composite has been completed.

Space community paying last respects to its patriarch
In the morning, a lying-in-repose ceremony was held at the Kalinin Cultural Center of the town of science of Korolev to pay last respects to the patriarch of space science, Chief Researcher of RSC Energia, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences B.Y. Chertok who had died on December 14, 2011.
Taking part in the civil memorial service were delegations form the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation, Russian Academy of Sciences, Roskosmos, NASA, companies and organizations in the Russian rocket and space industry, specialized institutes of higher education, administration of the town of Korolev.
Paying their last respects to the patriarch of space science were veterans of rocket and space industry, including managers who had been in charge of the industry in recent years, cosmonauts, including cosmonauts from the first cosmonaut team, people of art and culture, colleagues, friends, relatives, employees of RSC Energia and companies in the industry, and rresidents of the town of science.

Cosmonauts cast their votes in orbit!
Russian cosmonauts A.N. Shkaplerov
and A.A. Ivanishin
sent on a long-term space trip to work onboard the International
Space Station (ISS) under the ISS-30 Prime Crew Program will cast
their votes during elections of the RF State Duma deputies and Moscow
Regional Duma deputies.
Cosmonauts applied to the Russian Federation Central Election Committee (CEC) and Moscow Region Territorial Election Committee with a request to provide them a possibility to vote on the elections day.
In accordance with their request, the Lead Operational Control Team (LOCT) of the ISS Russian Segment mission scheduled for December the 4th to conduct special communication TV session with the station.
