The State Commission held its meeting at Baikonur launch site where the primary and backup crews for Soyuz TMA-M were approved and the readiness of the space launcher system was confirmed.

The State Commission approved the proposed composition of the primary and backup crews.

Prime crew: Scott Joseph KELLY (NASA, USA), ISS-25 Flight Engineer, ISS-26 Commander, Soyuz TMA-M Flight Engineer; Alexander Yurievich KALERY, ISS-24/25 Flight Engineer, Soyuz TMA-M Commander; Oleg Ivanovich SKRIPOCHKA, ISS-25/26 Flight Engineer, Soyuz TMA-M Flight Engineer (they are both Roscosmos, Russia cosmonauts).

Backup crew: Ronald John GARAN, (NASA, USA), ISS-25 Flight Engineer, ISS-26 Commander, Soyuz TMA-M Flight Engineer; Sergey Alexandrovich VOLKOV, ISS-25/26 Flight Engineer, Soyuz TMA-M Commander; Oleg Dmitrievich KONONENKO, ISS-25/26 Flight Engineer, Soyuz TMA-M Flight Engineer (they are both Roscosmos, Russia cosmonauts).

The members of the primary and backup crews reported their readiness for the mission.

The launch of the Soyuz-FG integrated launch vehicle with the Soyuz TMA-M spacecraft to the ISS Orbital Complex is planned for October 8, 2010 at 03:10 Moscow time.
